In Your Room

Everything in life is an experience. You gain knowledge from it. You make mistakes and learn for the next time. Some experiences are better than others obviously. Some are hard and some are a bit easier. What is really fun is when you have both at the same time. First time ever taking pictures at a wedding, recently. Went very well I think. I know that I want to do it again! Went to Atlanta and saw Tegan and Sara at the Variety Playhouse. I didn't think we were going to make it on time. We did though. Stress over nothing. I have GOT to work on that! The show was a blast. It was my sixth time seeing them live and they get better every time! The drive back was cathartic. I love driving in the dark. There was a moment of fear when 4 different exits had no open gas stations and we only had a quarter of a tank left at 2 in the morning! But it all worked out. So do we just hold on and enjoy the ride, or lean a bit and guide the direction as much as we can?

The Experience of a Mardi Gras virgin, call me crazy now! I had the opportunity to experience Mardi Gras from a balcony on Bourbon Street. I didn't decide to actually go until I found myself in the car, driving to New Orleans. There were even a couple of false starts. I knew that it was crazy to go there by myself, without directions, and no real plan. That's starting to become my "thing" I suppose. Unfortunately for me, I should have planned a little better. While I remembered my gloves, I forgot my warm jacket. While I remembered clean underwear, I forgot my phone charger. I made it to New Orleans with a bit of directional help just as the sun was setting. I noticed parking was $30-$40 dollars. I decided I could walk a bit, so I took a side road and parked on the street. It was dark by then and some of the streets were surprisingly vacant and not well lit at all. I pulled my hood over my head and held onto my back pack with both hands. I made it to Bourbon Stree...

Tuesday's in February

I found myself sitting at the kitchen table this afternoon for lunch. A roll of paper towels was on the table in front of me. I looked down at the handful of Gummi Bears I was eating and decided to sit them on the roll of paper towels. Once they were all facing me, 3 red and 2 orange, I started to feel weird about it. It looked like they were staring at me, silently judging me for eating them. I then decided I felt better about things if I just held them in my hand. I think I need to get out more.

Where in the world would be a cooler place to be than in New Orleans on Super Bowl Sunday? No where, is where. So that's where we went! It was a blast. The whole city was wearing Black and Gold. Even the construction signs urged drivers to "Be Black and Gold, not Black and Blue", "To Be a Saint, don't drive drunk". I saw maybe 5 people wearing Colts jersey's and I'm not sure they made it out alive.I threw myself on a hand grenade and partook of a mohito at the Parkway Bakery along with one of the best Reubens I might have ever had. I became the proud owner of beads too, without even flashing anyone during the Krew de Barkus parade. (It was a parade of dogs, get it?) The people were far more interesting than their canine counterparts though. I took a lot of pictures, posted all on flickr. I watched Pandorum and am recommending that no one waste their time on that movie! Definitely makes the "Worst Movies" list! Even cutie Ben Foster couldn...
