Mini Crunchies

I've been doing aisle audits for the past 3 days. This is not fun. Basically, I stand still, and look at aisles and make sure that nothing is out of place. Tedious. Do it once, though, and we don't have to do it again! How's that for looking on the bright side? Yesterday I was working on moving the patio furniture around and totally pulled something in my foot. My feet have been sensitive though, so I think it was inevitable. I just stayed off of it after work yesterday and took some tylenol. I'm just FRAGILE like that!! Definitely looking forward to the weekend for a little rest and relaxation.

20 Days of February

Still working on the store. I think we have approximately 2 weeks left before we do a 'quiet opening' where only a select few (our family and friends) can come in and shop. This lets us figure out computer bugs and mess ups with people who might be a little bit more patient with us than the general public would be. I set over 130 dividers for the pillow case and sheet section on Wednesday and did a little more signing. Stupid to wear new shoes on such a busy day though. I think I'll wear them sporadically this weekend and break them in a little bit more. My feet were hating me but much better the next day.  I think we might have to vote out a player pretty soon. Her negativity is mind blowing and that, my friends, can just suck the fun out of everything.  I am wanting Patricia Brigg's newest novel so bad I can taste it. I absolutely love, LOVE, the fact that she has become so popular. I'm such a fan of the Mercy books and I think that it's just great that more ...

Minus Through

Got a phone call from the restaurant yesterday! Hopefully by the second week of march things will get very interesting job/money wise. I can't believe it's almost March already. Time is flying. Had one of the best drives to work this morning so far.  Acquired a blister on my pointer finger from working 'so hard'.  Had to get new shoes and new insoles because I'm on my feet so much. I'm researching feet and arches. It's weird to me that I seem to 'walk' on the balls of my feet. Saw some suspicious petechia on my inner calves again, but they might be fading already. No reason for the above mentioned phenomenon. My best guest is alien abduction. Saw a grown man in Wal-Mart with wading boots on and his pants tucked into them and a fishing hat. He was buying toilet paper and soda. Small children were staring. Checked CNN headlines and ate cereal.  A GOOD day!

Wrapping My Head

I saw a youtube video of Joaquin Pheonix rapping this weekend. At one point I squinted my eyes and shook my head, asking 'why'? Then I shrugged and said, "why not?" If that makes him happy, I say go for it!  It was a great weekend, full of family surprises, afternoons spent at the beach, and amazing 'outings'. One for the memory books, for sure! Work is extremely fun, although I -am- still adjusting to this sleeping thing. I didn't sleep much yesterday, maybe an hour total. I'm not really that tired this morning though. Or maybe I am, maybe I'm beyond the point of being tired. Yesterday, my team got to see the really goofy, giggly, side of me. I hope she comes back this morning, lots of fun that girl.  Lesson of the week: Rapping   = 'Happy', kind of weird with the beard though. Rock, er RAP ON! Hitting girls = 'Not cool' under ANY circumstances!!

Lucky Town

I didn't sleep last night. A fun side effect of sleep deprivation for me is complete and utter giddiness. It's wonderful! I had to wake up at 2:30 am so I took a 3 or 4 hour nap yesterday and decided to just stay up, otherwise I'd probably be cranky because of funky sleep pattern disturbances. I got to work on time and was told I would get to build furniture for the next 7 hours. If you know me, you'd know I squealed at this little tid -bit of information. I absolutely love putting stuff together. I was building all of the displays in the furniture department. There were office chairs, chests of drawers, tables, bookshelves, etc.. Admittedly, around 11am my right hand was shaky because of the manual screwdriver that I was using and my knees were a little sore from crawling around on concrete, but I got paid to put stuff together!! I should have been a construction worker or something.  I got home and fell into bed for a little over 4 hours and then woke up, wide awake....

Groundhog Groundhog Day Day

Mr. Phil saw his shadow and forecasts six more weeks of winter. I dig it. (Get it?) I'm going on my 6th straight day of work. Today was the first day in a medical setting. I think I'm going crazy, but for once in my life it makes perfect sense! Lots of down time and screaming at the elderly. Mexican food was thrown in for good measure which led to some amazing poop stories.
