Photography Adventure

Image
The day started out pretty blah. It was overcast and very cool, some would say a great morning to sleep in. -I- would say a great morning to sleep in! Too bad I got a phone call SO EARLY IN THE MORNING that just wrecked those plans. Grrr But I decided to make the most of it. I went to the zoo hoping the clouds would go away and I could get some decent shots of the animals. I think I got a few! This is one of my favorites, but you can see more on my flickr site if you want.

Make It A Random

So when not much is happening, some may call this boredem, this is what happens. The RANDOM PLAYLIST *cue dramatic music* These are the first ten songs that played when I put my Ipod on shuffle. Are you ready for this? :p o Alanis Morissette ~ You Learn - One of her less angsty songs from the Jagged Little Pill Album I think. I like this, especially the beginning when 'the fire trucks are coming 'round the bend." The lyrics are pretty simple so it makes a great song to sing a long to! o Kelly Clarkson ~ You Found Me - Not one of my favorites, but it's still really sweet. I like the idea of being found by someone when you never realized you actually wanted to be found. o Engima ~ I Love You...I'll Kill You - A lllooonnngggg song, coming in at 8 minutes and 1 second. I usually only listen to this one when I'm drawing because it's a great song to zone out too! Not many words and a really trancy beat. o Linkin Park ~ Somewhere I...

Suddenly I see...

The sky is so incredibly blue today. It's a nice break from the constant overcast greyness and morning/afternoon thunderstorms. It's also slightly cool but -very- sunny. I approve. It was a good morning today. I was able to wear my charcoal scrubs. They were just a little too tight to wear a couple of weeks ago, but I have been trying to watch what I eat and take extra walks. It's very encouraging to see results! My hair is driving me insane! I haven't had it this long since high school and I want to get it cut very bad. However, I am in a wedding on May 6 and we are all having our hair done in up-do's. I have been grumbling and complaining about how I can't -wait- to get it all cut off, and then someone goes and says, "Oh, but I think you look better with longer hair. It makes you look more slim." *blink* Gee, thanks. I know, I know....you should always do what -you- want and what makes -you- happy. I know. But still!! :op

Three Songs

I'm in agreement with someone I know, that music is an incredibly important part of life. It can cheer you up, it can rile you up, and it can also soothe you among other things. Three songs for me: A song that makes me sad: Okay, this one was easy. Sarah McLachlan "Full of Grace". If I'm in the right kind of mood this song actually makes me cry. I have a very vivid memory of driving down the road only a couple of days after my grandmother died and I actually had to pull over because I couldn't see the road from crying so much. A song that makes me all hyper: Don't laugh! But I swear everytime I hear Britney Spear's "...Baby one more time" I almost scream! I get all bouncy and I sing the words VERY LOUDY!! Anyway...moving on!! Picking a song that is embarrassing is a little bit harder because I listen to very embarrassing music sometimes, (see above). I looked at my playlist though and I have to say the most embarrassing thing right now is Vanilla...

Extra Crunchy

Much fun was had at Dollywood on Saturday. We thought it was going to rain because it was VERY cloudy that morning, but thankfully it cleared up and was a beautiful day. Not too hot and not too cold. It was -EXTREMELY- crowded though seeing as it was a Saturday and all. The Festival of Nations is there until May 7, which is my favorite time. I love seeing all of the different performers from different countries. We saw Italian swordsmen and Russian contortionists and a vocal group from Africa. They were all amazing. Sunday wasn't very exciting, I just sort of lounged around and cleaned. I did laundry, but that did not work out well at all!! The washing machine didn't wring out all of the water so my clothes were -dripping- and then the dryer completely broke, so every available spot in my house is occupied by wet clothes. *grumble* AND-AND these new jeans I got turned everything white...BLUE. *blinks* Oh yeah. AND-AND I was hanging some towels up over my shower rod...and it br...

Random Ramble

Image
I feel like rambling so bear with me today: I went for a walk yesterday afternoon. It was late in the day, I wanted some pictures of the late afternoon sun. I was walking through this really nice neighborhood, you know the kind, with the white picket fences and the perfectly manicured lawns. I'm all alone on the street and I hear these noises. They sound very animal like at first. I notice the house I'm walking by has it's windows down and I realize the people inside are REALLY going at it. Sheeesh!! Cut to me crossing the street and quickly walking in the other direction. And then I see two grown women playing badmitton. Which, okay that's not abnormal..but they were hitting it over a tennis net...and speaking French. It was just very bizarre and almost dreamlike. But I got a few neat pictures. Okay my dream! I am supposed to take these muscle relaxers before I go to sleep because I clench my teeth and I've gotten little knots in the muscle along my jaw line. But I...

April Showers

Cliche title I know, but that's what's happening at the moment, storms. Morning storms make me very sleepy because it gets so dark outside and then it's just rain and thunder. It doesn't worry me at all because the storm system hasn't absorbed any heat like they do in the afternoons where they can turn into very severe storms. (Oh yeah discovery channel!!) There is also absolutely -nothing- to do at work today. I've finished most everything. There are things I need to run down the street for but I can't do that with the storms. So here I sit. *yawns* The girl that sits across from me is in a very crabby mood. She's been slamming the phone down and breathing really hard all morning. She has her hair pinned up, maybe it's too tight. I've also been told that I can be very snobbish sometimes. *blinks* I don't see it. Of course I could just be denying it because I'm a brat. hahahaha. What's the argument for me being snobbish? Because I...

You Wouldn't Like Me

I went to the dentist today....again. I got a filling ( A really LITTLE filling) on a molar in the very back a couple of weeks ago. Well, I couldn't bite down on anything because it was excruciating, like maybe the filling wasn't in very good and it was hitting a nerve or something. Could just be my wild imagination coming up with "COULD BE'S". So I go back a couple of days later and he says I have a really tight bite so he sort of files down the filling. A few days past and it's still really painful to bite down on anything. In fact I don't, I just chew on the other side. A couple of days later I go back for a cleaning and I tell him it still hurts...he looks and puts this blue stuff back there and tells me my bite is still really tight, so he files some more. *blinks* This STILL doesn't work so I went back today and he took out the filling and replaced it with a different substance. Hopefully this works. I'm still scared to bite down on anything...

The Assignment

So I've been given an Assignment and here it is. To voice my opinions or thoughts on the Food Network. It's like an addiction I swear! Namely, I try to catch Paula Deen (which isn't my top favorite, but someone I know likes watching her very much!) Italian Cooking with Giada and 30 Minute Meals with Rachel Ray! Also, on Sunday nights there is a relatively new show called The Next Food Network Star! This is a must watch!! Okay Paula Deen. Her accent is very distracting and while sometimes she does remind me of older relatives I have and she does cook really tasty looking meals, I still can't get past her accent. It's also very fun to make vomitting noises when she puts a whole stick of butter on a plate full of food. This woman is Butter obsessed! Then there is Giada. She is beautiful! We often compare her to the girl in High School that you loved to hate. She's beautiful and classy and sort of arrogant. But really fun to watch. I don't think she's made a...

Silence

WARNING: INCOHERENT RAMBLE!! It's bizarre. It's constantly on my mind and I'm not sure what to think about it. How can you be - so - attached? How can there be - so - much of this? I really have never been in this position, I have never experienced these things, so I have no base for comparison. I can only hope that patience will be on my side. I think understanding is too much to ask, but maybe trust and patience are not.

New Sensations

I highly recommend these new potato chips from Lay's. They are Lime & Cracked Black Pepper Kettle Cooked Potato Chips and man are they yummy! Probably not very good for you, but very VERY tasty! Too bad this doesn't count for free advertising 'cause I would sure appreciate some free chips being sent my way! HAHAHA Anyway, I came across this article on the afterellen website about Iyari Limon. She used to play Kennedy on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. "26-year-old actress Iyari Limon is a woman with a thirst for adventure. This Christmas she went to Peru on a lark. “It was great. I hiked the Amazon, I slept in hammocks in the jungle, fished for piranhas, got attacked by mosquitoes, climbed Machu Picchu on New Year's Day, did a ritual with a Shaman on the Amazon, I did it all. (laughs) And I only had a backpack. Just me, my friend Paula and our backpacks, not knowing where we were going next.” HOW COOL IS THAT?? It's weird because usually this wouldn't affect...

Monday Already?

Wow, this weekend just flew by! I survived the storms of course! We actually hardly got any severe weather in the town I live in, it just seemed to be -around- us. Talk about an anxiety filled night though. I got some pretty decent pictures. I -really- want to learn how to take pictures of lightning though! It would have been the perfect night too! The second storm that came through brought continuous lightning with it! My birthday was pretty fantastic! Woke up and went to the movies with my aunt and sister. We saw Take the Lead. It was an okay movie, glad I didn't pay full price for it, but an enjoyable way to spend 2 hours none the less. Scot and my mom made the MOST wonderful dinner (at my request of course). They made bbq chicken, green bean cassarole, and corn. I don't know why, but that is just my favorite meal!! And I got some great gifts too! I BIG thank you to everyone! I had a wonderful day. Hopefully this coming week will be just as good, but I don't have very hi...

Tomorrow

Tomorrow is the Big Day! That's right, it's my birthday!! Mark my words, it will soon be made into a national holiday so that the world will be able to celebrate ME! :p I am -really- like a child when it comes to my birthday. I get so excited. Watch, I'll be a 92 year old woman holding balloons going "wwwooooo, it's my birthday! Shake your groove thang" That is if I do not die in a tornado at a very young age. Don't laugh, I've had lots and lots of dreams about that. Speaking of, we are supposed to have very severe weather this afternoon. So if you are in the East TN area...be careful tonight. On slightly happier news....TOMORROW IS MY BIRTHDAY!! WOO! SHAKE IT! *dances* OH YEAH I'm turning 24!

Updates

SATURDAY It was nice to -not- do anything for a change. SUNDAY Started off a little overcast and chilly, but the sun came out and it quickly warmed up! I went four-wheeling with Mom and Scot. We brought some chicken up on the mountain and had a picnic! It was SSOOO much fun! Although next time I really need to remember to wear my sunglasses or bring some goggles. The dust was killer on my contacts. As I was leaving Mom's house I noticed dark clouds in the distance. I asked "Is it supposed to rain today?" YEAH!! We were in a tornado warning within a couple of hours and the lighting was constant. It even hailed. I was pretty scared, but luckily had people to talk me through it. Thanks and thanks. It came through 2 more time through the night, but it didn't bother me as much, I just went back to sleep. MONDAY I was feeling pretty sleepy right after lunch so I decided as soon as I got home I would take a quick nap and re-energize. I didn't wake up until tuesday mornin...
