Success and another book read
Success was had, well…sort of, yesterday! My day went really well. I’ve had this headache since Monday that just won’t seem to go away and it got worse yesterday afternoon. I decided to just chill and hang around hoping it would just go away. A mini freak out was had. That’s always embarrassing when it’s over. But when you’re in the moment, I don’t know…your perspective is just so different.
I finished Cast in Shadow by Michelle Sagara yesterday. The first thing I noticed about this book is how thick it is coming in at a mere 507 pages. It was a little technical at some points when different races and politics were being explained and I still can’t ‘quite’ picture what a Leontine looks like. BUT, with that being said I really enjoyed the book! The main character is Kaylin Neya. I loved her attitude and smart ass responses to authority. She really says whatever she’s thinking at the moment and finds it incredibly difficult to hold her tongue. Trouble ALWAYS manages to find her too. All of the characters were likeable and very…well most aren’t human, but they managed to have human emotions and personalities. Their humanity made them likeable I think.
UGH! Yesterday our high was like only in the high 50’s but today?? Today it’s going to be 78!! How gross is that? It’s also playing havoc with my sinuses. I think that’s why I’m carrying around a headache. Well, hopefully it will cool down soon!!
