Frankly my Dear...
So I just finished watching "Gone With the Wind" last night. It was a two night ordeal. I am 24 and have never seen this movie. While to many this would be 'no big deal', to many other's it is a certain travesty. What are my thoughts on the movie you ask? Well, let me just tell you. First of all I am incredibly impressed with the effects and general 'vast-ness' of the film. I was particularly impressed with the 'wounded soldier scene' where Scarlet flees the hospital and goes out into the street where there are virtually thousands of wounded and dying soldiers. Wow! The special effects (superimposed images) can hardly be compared to today's technology, but I couldn't help but laugh at some of the carriage and horse riding scenes. I absolutely adore Scarlet's character. Vivian Leigh's eyes are so incredibly expressive, it was such a joy to watch. Rhett Butler was so incredibly charming without being overly cheesy. His dimples are lovely, *swoons* Don't even get me started on the pathetic-ness of Ashley *wrinkles nose* I loved the movie plain and simple. I didn't like the ending though, not at all. Someone could have WARNED me! Sheesh. "Oh Tara..Tara *rolls eyes*
Work is still......not so much fun. We are remodeling and that is ALWAYS a pain. There is crap everywhere which is making people 'snippy' and hateful. Hopefully everything will be finished by this weekend and people will perk up. Keep your fingers crossed for me. If it doesn't I will most certainly be put in jail for murder.

Gone With The Wind was incredible! Honestly, I thought it was one of the best movies I've seen in a very long time. I like that it WASN'T the ending you expected. I think for those times that was rather good though I'm starting to think I misjudged old movies because I saw another one called THE INNOCENTS (based on Turn of the Screw) and the ending was anything but happy. All the same, Vivian Leigh was a genius. I Think that she fit the part perfectly and that it would be hard for me to imagine Katherine Hepburn in the role. (She insisted she should be the one to play it! Infact, she said the role was meant for her...to which the director bluntly replied that he could not imagine Rhett chasing her for 10 years. OUCH!) Speaking of Rhett...I'm with you there. He was most definitely charming and...well charming. I can't say that he's HANDSOME necessarily but there is definitely something about Clark Gable. His eyes are fairly impressive. His dimples ARE cute but mostly it's the way he carries himself in this movie. He was ten times better than droopy old Ashley. Ashley and Melanie were meant for each other though I Even warmed to Melanie after a while. Anyway....We'll haev to tackle another classic movie soon. That was so much fun!
