This Place
Sometimes I feel very confident in who I am. Where I am. What I am doing.
Other times I see people or read about people and I am blown away by their seemingly inexhaustible confidence. I don't compare myself to them, but it does make me question my own. Only sometimes.
Are we all right where we are supposed to be? I suppose. I mean, philosophically speaking, if we weren't where we are now, we wouldn't be who we are right now. We would be a different person who would be doing the right thing for them right then. The question is moot. It has no wrong answer. Veritable catch 22.
But I think we are in charge of our happiness for sure.
You can make the money, buy the cars, see the sights, get the education... but then what?
I know in the very core of my being that I want to be in love. I'm not talking about knowing what love feels like. I know that feeling. I like that feeling.
What I am talking about is being in love all the way!!! Not drowning in someone so completely that you get lost, no... But committing to the act of love so completely that it fills up places inside of you that were never full before. Going to bed each night saying "I love you." Making memories together. Sharing a life together.
You can wait and say, if it was meant to be, it will be. Or you can put yourself out there and be open to it. Right now. Isn't life too short for anything else?
I know it's not what everyone wants or what everyone strives for. It can be a goal for people or something someone hopes for but just knows they can't have. Lots of people don't even believe it's possible. Or maybe it's just fleeting.
But for me? I want it more than anything.
