Sleepless and cranky
I'm bbbaaccckkkk!!! I know I was missed too. ((pppttthhhhh))
So the trip went really well I think. My grandfather is doing very VERY well considering everything. He still gets up at dawn and feeds the goats and makes breakfast. I think the chemo treatments knock him out for a couple of days after but then he gets his strength back. His spirits are so high and he has such a great sense of humor. I 'DEFINITELY' know where my smart-ass-ness comes from though!! He tells the best stories too. I think once you become a grandparent a part of your personality is completely reformed into being all loveable and grandparent-ish.
It was very hot in Oklahoma (duh) so I spent a little time swimming. Got a tan that faded within a couple of hours. No storms! PHEW!!
The ride back was a little bit harder than the ride there because we drove straight through on the way back.....13 hours in a little box with 3 other people. Right around the 10th hour I was contemplating jumping out while it was still moving. I also found myself looking around for sharp objects or duct tape...anything to get some quiet. But we all made it back in one piece. Thank GOD for I-pods and DVD players!!!!
I actually fell into bed around 11pm last night and woke up at 5:30. I know the normal person can live on 6 hours of sleep. I don't deny that...but nobody said that person is going to be happy/perky/nice about it.

ReplyDeleteYou don't know how great it is to have you back right now. You were greatly missed. It's never quite the same when you're not around. *grins* It's so great to know your grandpa's doing so well. That's amazing and great news. I'm glad, especially, that his spirits are so up. That isn't easy to manage in times of trial so I can only imagine what he must go through but still....More power to him!...And to you! Welcome back, babe.
