Trying too hard
The constant lightening above the mountains provided a nice distraction from my otherwise preoccupied thoughts. The invisible clouds become outlined in pink for seconds at a time and I wonder what it would be like up there with them. The rains only stopped for 30 minutes at a time today. It was if the storms only needed to catch their breath before they were off again. The darkness and low clouds made everyone sleepy and hesitant to go anywhere. I rather liked it for a change. The rain can stop though. It’s flooding in places. I think we’ve had enough. This also means that the hot air balloon festival was a complete wash out. Hopefully they will reschedule it for another weekend.
I’ve also read two books in the past couple of weeks. It took me forever to finish In Cold Blood by Truman Capote. I was curious to see how it ended though because I was completely unfamiliar with the murder case that it followed. I basically wanted to know if the murderer’s were ever caught and punished for what they did. So, I stuck with it. I’m glad I did. Looking back it sort of reminded me of To Kill a Mockingbird, which is funny since the two authors were good friends from what I understand. They were both good books, but neither were my favorites.
The other book that I recently finished (recently being yesterday) was Running With Scissors. Extremely bizarre doesn’t even come close. The whole entire time I was reading it, I was thinking “This can’t be true!! None of this could have happened!!” But apparently it all did. A lot of the things were very graphic and almost gave me a dirty feeling. Like, I shouldn’t be reading it. But I had that car accident syndrome. I couldn’t look away; I wanted to see what would happen next. I’m very interested to see how they plan on turning this into a movie. In my opinion, more than half of the book cannot be put on screen without an NC-17 rating. It’s astounding and mind-blowing. A definite trip and one I’m not sure I enjoyed completely, but that I’m definitely glad I took.

That's interesting! I've heard of Running with Scissors but I don't know what it is about at all. And you know you read that because you, my dear are a huge pervert! Hahahahaha! Honestly, though, I wish I had half the speed you do to read. *sighs* I do love reading but apparently I'm a moron wheni t comes to it. Hahah! I'll count on you for your continued recommendations.
