The newest edition
It's 11 am on wednesday and I have a splitting headache. The downside to working with a bunch of women is the bickering and complaining. I'm not saying that I don't do any, I could be the queen of complaining if I wanted to, but it's a different thing to 'listen' to it. So what did I do? I went home. Yes I took the cowardly way out. I work on saturday though, so techincally I -deserve- a half day off. *sticks out tongue* As soon as I get home I fall into bed and I'm out cold! (well, not cold..I turned my electric blanket on. It's freezing up in here!!) I get a call around 3:30 from the aunt. She's bringing a dog home. I rub my sleepy eyes and try to get my brain to comprehend what I just heard. "I'm sorry....what did you say?" I didn't misunderstand. She's bringing a dog home. Needless to say, she totally lied to me. She brought a RAT home! Have a look see:

Oh yeah! Not much to say about her huh? Get this..her name is 'Chicaree' *rolls eyes* Oh well, nothing much I can do, she's integrated herself into our little family. I must admit I am encouraging our other dog to eat her though. *looks innocent*
Also, here's a picture of my latest project. It's a combination of watercolor, bleach, and colored pencil.
I've said it once and I will say it again, the said rat looks like STELLALUNA, the fruitbat in the children's book by the same title. It's really cute, though. I mean, I think its so ugly it's cute despite the way it's spoiled. Also, it doesn't like it when you eat bagels. That's just entirely too distracting from it's appointed bathroom time. (teasing!) hahahah!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this piece. Its very different from what you do because it is very abstract but aside from that, I love your use of various art forms and styles and tools. I mean, bleach? It's very impressive. Furthermore, it's well done. I could have abrilliant idea too but the execution of it would be a disaster and there would be no salvaging it. I'd bleach a hole in it! No, it's really nice. I see a bit of a celtic element about it but the cloudiness of the backgruond is interesting. What can one glean from this? Ooo I'll have fun interpreting the meaning. I DO think it's interesting that you used warm colors when the sharper angles of it usually conjur up thoughts of the COLD. ^_^ Anyway, I love love LOVE it!
