It's Recovery Time
My surgery went very well! Here's a run down of what happened in case anyone is interested. I got to the office and filled out the required paperwork. Boring. Then I was taken back to a room and given a little hair net thingie and booties to go over my shoes. The nurse gave me a Valium to chew up and an ibuprofen for any swelling. I got eye drops in my eyes every 10 minutes or so to numb them. After that we walked back to the surgery room and the doctor came in. They taped one eye shut and then taped my eyelashes (upper and lower) down. You can't really feel anything except pressure. Then I felt the metal thing being put in place to hold my eye lids open. Like I said, no pain, just a pressure sensation. After that it felt like he rubbed gel in my eye because everything was really blurry and things moved so quickly. He told me to focus on this green light and try to keep my attention on it. I would say it was over in 5 minutes. I could see immediately afterwards. It was a little blurry because I had these soft contact gel things in my eye that he took out approx. 30 minutes after the surgery. I was told to go home and sleep for the rest of the day, they even give you some sleeping pills to help with that but it didn't work. I think I was too keyed up from the procedure. I slept for about an hour and then just hung around -listening- to the TV and my mom talk. I tried to keep my eyes closed as much as possible though. *smirks* The one thing I wasn't prepared for was the HORRIBLE taste from the eye drops. Logically it makes sense, but at the time I didn't even think about it. When you put the eye drops in they drain down through your tear ducts and you can literally TASTE them. *wrinkles nose* But besides that I would totally do it again. I highly recommend it.
*shudders* You are far braver than I am. I would never willingly undergo any kind of surgery. IT would take more than anesthesia to put me out, I'm afraid. Hammer to the head and HARD,please. I just can't do it. Youknow what I think, of course. I think you wore glasses very well. Looked really good in them but I also know that you wanted to not have to worry about it and I Guess the fact is...If I had gorgeous blue (China blue, was it?) eye...I'd show them off too.
