So if you read my post yesterday then you know that the whole day was an exercise in finding things to do. I would have gone crazy if I was by myself and had to fill 8 hours of doing absolutely nothing. But lucky me, I had other people to share in the boredom.
So we found YouTube. It’s this cool website if you haven’t heard about it, where people can post videos of ANYTHING. We saw Soccer goals from the World Cup, the Diet Coke/Mentos experiment, Cat’s massaging puppies, crazy lip synching people. And then we got organized. Oh yes!! We started hunting for 80's music videos!! *grins widely*
So we found this group Shakespear’s Sister. It was two girls, one really tall with a soprano voice and one shorter girl with an edgy, deep voice. I think they were only together from 1988 to 1992. They had two hits in the US. One was “I don’t Care” and the other was this AWESOME song called “Stay”. The video is CRAZY though, you should check it out if you ever get the chance. Most people remember it because it starts out very slow and sweet and then about half way through this rock music cuts in and it turns totally crazy. I love it! The lyrics are pretty simple but I like them. The beginning reminds me of someone. I could totally picture her saying/thinking that!!! Unfortunately they don’t have it on I-Tunes *sighs*

    ^_^ HAHA! I would have to say that you know me pretty damn well. The sentiments are very close to the kinds of things I have been known to and continue to say. In short--Good job, kiddo! Losing Money

That's what my bosses are doing today. They make us work on Memorial Day and then question why we aren't busy. But hey, why should I care? I'm getting paid to sit here and read. It's just that sometimes I can't help feeling I'm stuck in a Saturday detention. Doesn't help that half of the employees called in 'sick' today. Maybe I'm just jealous and bitter. I did have a wonderful weekend though! We went to the lake on Saturday and couldn't have asked for better weather. Had a BBQ, soaked up some sun, went home and slept. I watched Trainspotting while I unpacked some more boxes. It was disturbing to say the least and the baby, TRAUMATIZING. Johnny Lee Miller is absolutely adorable though. On Sunday we went to the theater and saw Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End . I was a little 'iffy' about it because I had read it was over 2 1/2 hours long. So this is INCREDIBLY rambly...just had to get some things out! Life is.... interesting I feel..... everything One moment I feel very adult-like. I have responsibilities, a career (even if it's one I don't like). I have bills to pay and I'm budgeting my money. I make wise choices and investments. I help people with their problems and I am a shoulder to cry on. I fix things and I'm in complete control. I know how the world works and I feel comfortable with that. In between this breath and the next I'm on my ass. Things aren't like that at all. Am I just fooling myself? Is it a coping mechanism for us because we are so programed to think that way?
