The 4th

I hope everyone had a great fourth of July.
I started mine off with food poisoning. Sushi was had for dinner and it was sooo good. Unfortunately it was coming back only an hour after consumption and it did not taste good the second time. I threw up so much and for so long I actually fell asleep on the bathroom floor curled up in the fetal position. I went to bed and lined my small trash can with a plastic bag. I would lie down and then my stomach would lurch so I'd sit up and just hug the thing, puking for a couple of minutes before falling back down. There was no way that I had that much in my stomach.
I woke up and was still feeling slightly sensitive. I tried sipping water because I could feel myself getting dehydrated, sticky mouth and all. We had talked about going hiking today so I rolled out of bed. Surprisingly, my stomach felt alright and I decided that I could probably handle it.
With no map and no plan we headed out west to Fall Creek Falls. Why state parks are surrounded by absolutely nothing and semi-trashy homes alongside federal prisons, I will never know. Nor did I care once we got there. I was pumped!
It was an amazing hike. More strenuous than I thought. The overlooks were amazing as were the waterfalls. A lot of times during the hike I kept noticing things and drop offs that made me think of someone and a certain "momma cat". I just had to shake my head and bite my lip a little bit.
After the hike we were definitely 'feeling it'. My legs were quivering and I was so incredibly thirsty. Also, by this time I was starving. We had noticed a restaurant on the way in so we decided to give it a try. Weirdest dining experience. Turns out it was someones house. We walked up the stairs and there are like 4 tables in someones living room. The other 3 tables are filled with bikers. I kid you not. I drank 3 glasses of ice water before the waitress could even take our order. Then this creepy guy walks out asking how every one's food is. Thing is, he's wearing elastic shorts with his shirt tucked into them. We were toast! But he soon left and I breathed a sigh of relief. The homemade pizza was impressive.
I've uploaded a couple of pictures from the hike on my flickr site.
