Do you Bask?
I've had to travel outside for internet access. This is great since it's such a nice day with a cool breeze. Unfortunately, no matter how nice it is, it always gets "hot" after a little while.
The house is being painted today. I feel a bit awkward lying in the grass while someone toils away in the sun. He's stopped and talked to me quite a bit. I even offered to help since he was commenting that it's going to take a lot longer than he expected and he might have to come over in the 'evenings'. I was really interested in watching a 'red winged black bird' vie for a spot on the bird feeder. A blue jay was hogging the prime real estate. Then I felt guilty because I missed half of what he said. I tried to cover with "Working in this kind of weather must be a blessing and a curse" and how I think he's done a great job so far. I think it worked. I suppose it was a bit see through though, seeing as he hasn't done anything except scrape the paint off, so it looks pretty awful.
I got the shaft at work last night. It was doomed from the moment I left my house. They were doing work on the bridge and I was stuck in traffic for 25 minutes. This made me 20 minutes late for work. Didn't much matter seeing as how I was only assigned three tables though. I don't know who I pissed off, but I figure it's best to just "go with it" and not complain. I can't have it good all of the time and if a bad section is how the world balances things, I'm one happy camper! I walked out with a third of what I have been making, but again...it's more than I started with.
I'm working on some tattoos, still. Whenever I draw up tattoo ideas for other people, it always makes me want another one. Thankfully, this time I'm just not sure what I want so I won't be rushing out anytime soon and getting one.
My leg is better. The scabs have come off and it's brand new, white/pinkish skin. I'm just glad it doesn't hurt to wear socks anymore. I do still have some painful lumps on my shin, but those are shrinking each day.
I've been on the lookout for a new book. I'm toying with the idea of "The Beautiful Children" but it's not at the library and it's $14 for paperback. If anyone else has any recommendations, shoot 'em my way!
I broke my promise and read again. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I have the perfect idea for a tattoo! Hahahahah
Its nice that you should take notice of the red winged blackbird. I was always quite taken to them as a kid. They're pretty little things but I have this sense of nostalgia when I see one too. They're important. Good to know they are still about.
