Hectic be thy name
So we are approaching the half way mark and I am doing everything that I can to keep my head above water. You let one thing slip and you get very far behind in the blink of an eye. There is ALWAYS reading to be done, ALWAYS problems to be working. I'm trying to manage my time and set goals and schedules so that I can have some semblance of a life outside of school and work, but taking full time classes and a full time job, it's an 80 hour work week.
I got an excellent grade on a lab and that has put wind in my sails. I was slowing down last night with all of this chemistry stuff. Second guessing myself and such. I have a big test next Wednesday and then one the following week.
I think I have another test at work coming up soon.... ish.
One really huge benefit is interacting with people outside of my work. Even if they are a bit younger than me, it's nice. It's nice to commiserate about the sorority girls sitting behind us in math class, or having people actually wanting to be my lab partner. I've never really experienced that before, always kind of a loner.
Going to go off on a tangent here... We are focusing on Renaissance symbolism in Art History. I find this VERY VERY silly. I am supposed to believe that a tea pot represents the virginity of Mary?? Or a mousetrap represents God using Jesus as bait for Satan?? You know, could be. Very well could be. A lot of people have devoted their lives to the study of this stuff. I'm just saying, me personally... a teapot sitting on a kitchen counter is a fucking tea pot on a kitchen counter. And hello... have they ever heard of the plague?!? Of course there would be mousetraps in famous artworks. The cities were over run with rats and mice that killed people!! I'm sure every single house, tavern, and bath house had mousetraps.
Okay, I'm done. Feel much better.
